birthdays, baby showers, cowboys

We went to Springfield for one giant celebration weekend. Here is Andrea and Scott at Andie's family birthday party. We also celebrated aunt Tracy's birthday...they have the same birthdate.
Gramps gave Ben one of his hats. Ben wore the hat all weekend, no matter where we went! He has his hand on a cell phone case...Ben called it his wallet and kept cars in it.

Gran gave Ben some Wrangler jeans. Once we called the jeans cowboy jeans he had to have them on. He wore them the rest of the night and the whole next day even though it was 90 degrees. He's acting like a cowboy.

Cowboys are tough!

Baby shower time. Andrea and mom hosted a shower for me and peanut. Friends and family came to set us up :-)

Peanut received all kinds of clothes and gear. We are almost ready for him to join us in this world.

Colorado 2009

Deb and Gary have been in Boulder, CO for about a month serving Boulder Presbyterian Church. Bummer for us to have to travel to CO to see them :-) Here are some pics from our vacation.

Sunday morning...Ruthie being adorable.
Grandpa gave Ben a wallet and Ben is fascinated by it. He kept checking all the compartments, taking the change in and out, and putting it in his pocket.

Monday thru Wednesday morning...Nate hooked us up with The Flying Horse Ranch in Jefferson, CO for a getaway. It was perfect.
The cabins where cozy.

Getting in some long ball.

Grandma and Ben hanging out.
The Lodge across from our cabins. It's beyond words how beautiful and grand it is on the inside.

The horse barn...let's just say the horses have it good here on the ranch :-) The house on the left is for the ranch manager and his family.

The inside of our cabin.

Ruthie and Ben stacking rocks and then counting their piles.

Waiting for the bonfire, smores, and singing to begin.

Ben liked roasting the 'mallows.

Moonrise is beautiful in the mountains!

Baker Lake, a natural lake on the ranch grounds.

Nate catching a fish in Baker Lake.

Nice rainbow trout.

What we saw all around us on the ranch: beautiful sky, mountains, blues, greens, some red, and NO NOISE.

Ben discovered a motorcycle helmet and almost wore it to bed :-)

Nate, Jake, Ruthie, and Ben taking the canoe back to the Lodge. Time to head back to Boulder.
